STOP! WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT YOUR FEET IN THE POOL
By: Sharlie Peterson
Let’s talk about your feet in the pool. I am an aqua fitness instructor. For the most part I teach my classes on the deck, but sometimes, because I use special equipment in the water, I get in the pool from time to time to set up that equipment and also teach a few of my classes in the water. Now as a student, I know that you should use water shoes any time you’re in the pool to protect your feet and to provide comfort for your feet while you’re in the pool. However sometimes as instructors, we unfortunately don’t think the same way. Let me show you a really, really bad picture of my foot… take a look—pretty painful to look at!

This is my foot after 2 hectic days in a row of not using my water shoes during my class when I had to set up special equipment and run around teaching one circuit station from the other. Water shoes are so important to people of all ages to protect your feet in the pool. Because not every pool floor surface is smooth. Even if it looks that way, even if it is smooth—there could be things such as rocks in the pool (especially outdoor pools), but there can be little rocks in the pool, little scrapes, bumps, anything.
Your feet will more than likely get torn up a time or two in the pool.
That is why having water shoes is important.
Now let’s go into why Aquamore water shoes are even better!
The Aquaciser Chlorine Resistant Water Shoe from Aquamore has superior drainage for quick drying, it’s light weight with arch support, has an easy zip tie so the closure stays in place, and soft and breathable fabric.

Another great option from Aquamore are the Water Cruiser Chlorine Resistant Water Shoes. These have no laces for an easy on and off, also come with drainage for quick drying, removable perforated insole, and the bottom has a sticky rubber application for better traction on wet surfaces.

Now, as an instructor, one reason I really love the Aquamore water shoes (and I’m partial to the Aquacisers), is that they add some weight to your feet. This provides an added element to the workout along with the water resistance hitting your body as well. It just provides an even more well-rounded workout for you in the pool.
We have something for everyone, and for every foot! Trust me—I have a wide foot, size 10, they help me out, they are super comfy! I get the Aquamore Aquaciser—both the black & grey and pink & grey, because I like to change things up from time to time!
So, this summer, or this fall, winter, or next spring—you choose! Make sure you are staying cool in the pool with Aquamore water shoes!
