Relieve Knee Pain With Water Exercise

THIS WEEK'S SOLUTION:
WATER EXERCISE TO RELIEVE KNEE PAIN

1. FRONT TO BACK

  • a. Hold a pool noodle and stand on your left leg, then place the noodle underneath the knee. This keeps the leg elevated.
  • b. Press the suspended right leg down in front of the body.
  • c. Lift the leg back up in front of the body. Continue up and down.

2. SIDE TO SIDE

  • a. Hold a pool noodle and stand on your left leg. Press the suspended right leg down and to the left
  • b. Lift the right leg back up in front of the body.
  • c. Press the suspended right leg down and to the right. Continue to alternate side to side.

3. ADD ROTATION

  • a. Hold a pool noodle and stand on your left leg. Press the suspended right leg down and to the left, turning the toes in (towards the standing leg).
  • b. Lift the right leg back up in front of the body.
  • c. Press the suspended right leg down and to the right, turning the toes out (away from the standing leg). Continue to alternate side to side with rotation.

Exercise Tips:

  • Repeat each exercise 5-10 times before switching to the other leg.
  • Always move in a range that feels good.
  • Increase strength by increasing the speed of each motion.
  • Improve flexibility by slowing the speed and increasing range of motion.
  • Keep the knee on the standing leg softened to improve balance.
