10 Tips To Extend The Life Of Your Swimsuit

Chlorine damages conventional swimsuits to an irreparable extent. Swimming in a chlorinated swimming pool is effectively equivalent to soaking your swimsuit in bleach for a couple of hours. Our polyester swimsuits are designed to outlast conventional swimwear.

The following tips will help you maintain your swimsuits for a longer time, including our chlorine resistant suits:
  1. Shower with fresh water before you move into the pool. If the swimsuit is already saturated with clean water then it absorbs less chlorinated water.
  2. After you finish in the swimming pool do wash your swimsuit with cool water and rinse a little.
  3. Use of a suit cleaner such as Suit Saver™ will extend the life of your swimsuit.
  4. Roll up in a clean, lint free, and light-colored or fade resistant towel and squeeze again. Do not leave rolled up in wet towels or in gym bag. Moisture left in your suit for extended periods of time will lead to unwanted odor and suit failure.
  5. Air-dry and not sun dry.
  6. Do not machine wash your swimsuit.
  7. Do not bleach, iron or wash with white clothes.
  8. Do not put in a dryer or centrifuge. Always air dry.
  9. Avoid getting oil or lotion on your swimsuit.
  10. Extra tip: Liners, especially tummy control, tend to have a shorter life than the polyester outer shell of your chlorine resistant swimsuit. If your liner should fail in a Krinkle® suit you may carefully cut out the liner and continue to get many more months of wear as the Krinkle® fabric is not transparent when wet. This may be more difficult to do if you own one of the Krinkle® suits with a modesty panel (styles #46380 and #53087).
